Tyler's Story............
The day I found out I was pregnant with you, I was so excited. I went to the Dr. to start my prenatal visits. I had already given your dad two precious little girls, so I was hoping to give him a son...... Oh how I wanted you to be a boy. It didn't take us long to come up with a name for you, as we had wanted you to be a boy. We never even picked out any girls' names, for I knew you were a boy. Your name was to be Tyler Benjamin Wayne Loftin. The name 'Tyler' we had always loved, and 'Benjamin' was after your dad & your Uncle Jody, and 'Wayne' was after your Uncle Ken. Those names were very special to us, to show the love & honor that I have for your dad & your uncles.....
Then the day came for you to be born, we went to the hospital in the early morning of April 23, 1997. I was so nervous, as was your dad, he just didn't say that he was, but I knew. Everything was going just fine. Your Dad was so wonderful in helping with all my needs. Your Aunt Cathie also came to be with us, as did your big brother Clifford, to welcome you into this world. Then it was time, at 8:00pm you entered into this world just a screaming and cying. You were so beautiful. You had dark brown eyes & brown hair. You weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz......
When you were 4 months old, we moved to Oklahoma, to go to work for your grandma & grandpa. Grandma & Grandpa loved being with you, they were always laughing and playing with you. And you had a very spacial bond with your big brother, he was the first one to make you giggle, you always thought everything was funny with him.Your sisters, Krystal and Rebecca, thought you were the cutest little boy they had ever seen, always wanting to hold you & kiss & hug you, and not understanding how come you weren't big enough to play with yet.
By your first birthday, you were walking and saying Da-Da a lot. Oh how daddy loved to hear you say that. You were his pride and joy, his precious little boy. As you got older, we all could tell who you looked like......me.
You had my dimples, my smile, you were so beautiful. Your dad & I would talk about when you would become a teenager, that we would have to watch out for all the girls coming after you.
When you were about 18 months old, grandpa had some horses, that you loved to watch daddy ride. You would holler at the horses, yee-aw, yee-aw. You wouldn't call them horses, just yee-aw.
Your favorite things to watch were Winnie the Pooh & Hercules..... you giggled so much that you cried when you watched Hercules, for you thought that Pegasus was so silly. I didn't watch the movie much, because I was always watching you watch the movie. To me you were more funnier. Oh baby, you were so precious.
Then in January of 2000,when you were a little over 2 and a half, we bought a ranch, it was a lot of work, but you were right there with me, daddy, grandma & grandpa in everything we did. We had lots of goats that you liked to pet & sometimes ride. But you never complained, you were too little to do much, but you would carry things for daddy or go & pick up something for grandpa, you always wanted to help.
Your most favorite thing to do was get on the tractors & pretend that you were driving them. You loved daddy's & grandpa's tractors. If we turned our head for even a moment, we knew where we would find you..... sitting in the tractor's seat. Daddy and grandpa would give you rides on them all the time, that was the most fun I think you ever had. You were such a big boy.
Your 3rd birthday was Easter Sunday, so it was extra special for you, it was like a great big party, starting with the Easter Bunny and hunting all those eggs. You had gotten all kinds of presents for your birthday, but your favorite was a little toy rifle that you loved to "hunt" buffaloes with. We didn't have any, but that didn't matter to you, you still wanted to hunt buffaloes.
Then came the horrible day that I will never forget, July 11, 2000. Your grandpa had asked if I would take grandma into town to the bank & that he would watch you and your sisters while we were gone. Daddy was at work, for he had left the day before & wouldn't be home til the weekend. Grandpa had been brush hogging the pasture & it was getting close to time for lunch, so he told you kids to get in the front end loader bucket of the tractor & you all would go to the house for lunch. He thought you all were in....... but you weren't & he didn't see you. You were gone in a second. Oh sweetheart, I promise grandpa didn't mean to do that, you were everything to all of us. You were Daddy's big boy & grandpa's & grandma's boy & my beautiful precious son, and the best little brother anyone could ever ask for.
Grandma & I had gotten back to the ranch about 15 minutes later........but the Angels had already come for you.
Oh Baby, we miss you so much. You were the most precious gift God could have ever given to us, even though it was for just a short time.
Starlight, Star Bright...
First Star I see tonight...
Wish I may... Wish I might...
Have this wish I wish tonight...
I wish to have my child again,
I wish a thousand hugs & kisses,
All over your sweet face.
I wish a million " I Love You's"
I wish to hold on so tight,
and never let go.
I wish just one more touch of that Little sweet face.
I wish just one more crumpled dandilion,
Given to me with pride and joy.
I wish another messy room,
To let me know you're still here.
I wish another home-made gift,
A mud pie that I could somehow never eat.
I wish just one more chocolate smudge,
Upon the bathroom wall.
I wish another Kool-aid spill,
That will take a thousand napkins.
I wish to have my child again...
You will always be in our hearts, son. We will never forget you, and someday mama & daddy will see you again in Heaven.
We Love You the biggest mostest, Tyler Wyler.
